Phil's fascination for the cinema began when he was 7 years old using his Dad's 8mm movie camera to shoot his own stop motion crayon colored paper cutouts to animate them. Then later on middle and high school, he became the kid on the block who made the funny movies.
Realizing his love for the craft but not being able to afford to go to film school, he settled for a degree in Video Production from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 1990.
During his education and after, he worked 16 years in the Savannah Television market as an on air director, commercial director/producer and art director creating hundreds if not thousands of commercials, news programs and documentaries.
It wasn't until he went back to SCAD in 2004 to work as an AVID Computer specialist for what is now the esteemed Film and Television department, that he realized his true love and calling as an actor. A Grad Student asked him to play a lawyer in his thesis film and during the 3-hour shoot he knew he was hooked.
Since then he's acted in over 30 student senior and grad thesis films ranging in his roles from a dual personality simpleton trying to keep his job, to a medieval Italian knight deliberating his life's choices, to a post apocalyptic hobo victimized by greed.
