This story reveals a young woman by the name of Abigail Greene who lives a very enchanting life until her world is changed when a rich suitor, Phillip Thompson, proposes to her. She is faced with the decision to marry for higher status in society or to be deprived of a regal life. But due to her heart belongs to another, who sent her a necklace, representing his love, Abigail realizes that she does not want to be seen just as a rich trophy wife, so she refuses Phillip’s proposal. But then suddenly finds out engagement party thrown by her father without her knowledge is taking place, greeting Abigail and Phillip. She becomes frustrated at everyone, and runs off into the garden to contemplate over things, with Phillip right behind her. She tells Phillip she will not marry him, and if he really loves her, he would let her make that decision. He agrees, and then leaves her with a gentle kiss on her forehead.
