Preston, a middle-aged introvert finds his complacency challenged when his estranged teenage son, Gregory, shows up on his doorstep battered and bruised, seeking absolution from tragedy. The only escape for Preston from the monotony of life is a morning fishing ritual with his friend, and town deputy, Abe. To clear his family name, Preston must conceal his son’s transgressions. Will the father protect his son – atoning him for the sins of alienating his family – or will he honor justice?
Cinematic influences include: Lynne Ramsay's "Ratcatcher", Andrei Zvyaginstev's "The Return", Roman Polanski's "A Knife in the Water", and Terrence Malick's "Badlands".
