Melodies and Repentance
A Morose Musical About a Composer’s Fear of Retribution

Haunted by past sins, and fearful of damnation Gesualdo, the Prince of Venosa writes songs of redemption and salvation. He is a talented, rich, and reverent man yet on the streets of 1591 Italy he is met with fear, and loathing from both the common and noble man. He escapes their words by retreating into his memory, of happy times with the woman who was once his wife, the beautiful Donna Maria. Back and forth he lets his mind stray from pleasant memories to the dark present day. He honors God in music as a plea, to be forgiven for the murder of his wife, her lover, and her baby (Whom he killed out of doubt of paternity.) He receives no formal punishment for his crime. His social standing served him well, now he is left with the fear of a vengeful God, and the threat of hell.

Shoot dates:
October 14-16 and 21-23

This is a musical that requires a lot of rehearsals and preparation. If you are interested in auditioning, Be prepared for a rehearsal schedule that will last three weeks prior to shooting.

Cardinal: 40+ year old male who can sing and act.

Donna Maria: 20-30 year old female who can sing and act.

Maid 1: 20-40 year old female who can dance, sing and act.

Maid 2: 20-40 year old female who can dance, sing and act.

Beggar: 50+ year old female who can sing and act (possibly dance).

Baker: 20-40 year old male who can dance. sing and act.

Casket Maker: 30+ year old male who can dance. sing and act.

Bride: 20-35 year old female who can act.

Crowd: 20-30 extras ranging from 6 years old and up females and males who can dance, sing and act.
