'Midway' is about a woman who has recently experienced a breakup. We pick up her story as she is 'midway' between heartache and acceptance. We watch her memories unfold through sound design and flashbacks until we finally leave her with the subtlest sense of hope and determination. In the end, she chooses to move forward but holds on to reminders of the love that has ended.

This is the graduate thesis film of Director Shannon Weiss - suziefilmmaker.com
Produced by Jenna Harcher - jennaharcher.com Director of Photography is Johnny Tsang - edgewaterpictures.com We will shoot October 6 - 9, 2011 at locations in and around Savannah, Georgia. Not all actors are needed for all days. 1 lead actress is needed with a supporting cast of 1 female and 3 males. Regarding ages, all characters are in their LATE 20's TO EARLY 30's. - Mara (early 30s) is an imaginative, sensitive woman interested in art, poetry, and literature. She is feminine and kind and has a youthful sense of wonderment about her. There is something timeless about her style, which borrows slightly from the trends of the 50s. Mara is coping with a recent breakup from her longtime boyfriend, Diggory. We find her ‘midway’ between heartache and acceptance and watch as she delves into memories that have shaped her life. In the end, Mara’s strength enables her to move on but not without keeping the mementos of a love that she will carry with her forever. - Diggory (early 30s) is a playful and charming man who studies philosophy. His dress is casual with a slightly vintage feel. We watch his character fade out of love with our leading lady, Mara, through a series of flashbacks. As different sides of Diggory’s character are revealed we come to understand the woman he is leaving behind. - Alex (early 30s) is the classic best friend. She’s there with a box of tissues when your boyfriend dumps you and she’s the first person to take you out when you’re ready to try dating again. She knows when to pester you and when to give you your space. Alex helps her best friend Mara recover from a recent breakup by setting her up on a blind date. Intuitive and caring, she’s just the support that Mara needs. - Caleb (30s) is the man guys strive to be and everyone wants to know. His practical approach to problems makes him the perfect guy to have around in sticky situations. That’s why our lead, Mara, turns to him and his girlfriend, Alex, when she needs support. - Cole (30s). If Diggory is Mara’s perfect match, then Cole is the anti-Diggory. He’s overdressed, overly chatty, and smiles a bit too much. His intentions are good but he’s the absolute wrong fit for Mara. Our intention is to enter this into various festivals, including but not limited to The Savannah Film Festival, SXSW and the San Fransisco Women's Film Festival. midwayfilm@gmail.com http://www.suziefilmmaker.com/
