Out At The Pictures (2009)

We fade in see in a full cinemascope frame (2.35:1) four “square” looking 20yr olds, all wearing thick framed glasses, black pants, polished shoes, white shirt, and a black tie. They ride with down the street of an abandon town that looks as if it hasen’t seen a human in years. The architecture is a retro –art deco style straight out of 50s Americana. There is nothing in the streets except the kids and their bikes. They ride down the street until they come across a cinema with its sign still on. They decided to go inside the mysterious theater. One of the kids runs into the projection room and turns on the projector. He runs down stairs and joins his friends. The movie stars with a slow flicker of light and then suddenly there is an explosion of sight and sound, colors, light, and wind exploded off the screen and sends the kids into a state of ecstasy, their eyes are open as wide as possible to ensure they get as much of this euphoria as possible. The wind kicks up a layer of dust from the floor and creates blinding beams of multicolored light. As quick as the movie started it ends. As soon as the screen goes black the kids jump out of their seats in a state of laughter and energy and run out of the theater down the street and out of the abandon town. They return to civilization and run into a costume store and come out dressed like a circus ringleader, uncle sam, santa , and a 50s gangster. They then run through the streets and the Ringleader has a megaphone, he then starts shouting to people about the theater. We then cut to the outside of the theater were there is a huge line of people waiting for the ultimate trip. Outside is the four guys are all playing the instruments of the song and the ringleader is saying the lyrics to the song through the megaphone. We will then cut to various reactions of people experiencing the euphoric show. We then cut into the future and show the guys still performing out in front of the theater except the theater and the rest of the town have been transformed into a futuristic city of lights similar to las vegas. Out in front of the four guys is a line of people that goes into the horizon and beyond.
