Marvin and Trent, friends and former high school basketball teammates, head out to their favorite public basketball court for a competitive game of H-O-R-S-E. Their lives are headed in separate directions: Marvin is traveling to Lagos, Nigeria in two days to spend a year there assisting in a humanitarian aid mission. He is a young man with a direction. Trent is recently unemployed, and in an emotional rut. However, he has a potential job opportunity awaiting him that evening at Sparkly Convenience Mart, where there's an opening for an evening shift cashier. As they play the game, Trent's jealousy of Marvin's basketball skill and ambition starts to seep out. By the end of the day, Trent realizes that he must eventually come to face his problems - especially once the Sparkly Convenience Mart gets burglarized...

Marvin – early 20s, African-American, athletic; a former high school basketball star who exudes confidence and skill – a youthful giant; book-smart and streetwise
Trent – early 20s, Caucasian; Marvin’s friend and former teammate who is jealous of Marvin’s talent, ambition, and newfound mission; he feels great anxiety about his future
(ACTORS WITH BOTH BASKETBALL AND IMPROV SKILLS ARE IDEAL, BUT NOT REQUIRED.)
Mr. Soto – early 40s, Hispanic; the stocky, benevolent owner of Sparkly Convenience Mart who fears for the state of his neighborhood
