Addiction: the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma. [Origin: 1595–1605; < L addicti?n- a giving over, surrender.] TITLE: Surrender GENRE: SURREAL NARRATIVE LENGTH: 12-15 MIN SYNOPSIS: The idea is to expose the beautiful and twisted mind of a young girl in today’s society through beautiful and exotic, surreal imagery that edge on the border of dreams and reality. Through the journey she is exposed to several different characters dealing with an obscure variety of addictions that effect almost everyone in our society such as: technology, escapism, religion, sex, relationships, alcohol, drugs, money, vanity, shopping, adrenaline, etc . This is an experimental film that will develop a metaphorical plot through dream-like scenes, subconscious dialogue, and intimate moments she experiences, illustrating the inescapable mind of human nature and the inevitable addictions. Glorified with heavy fashion and avant garde art direction, but still maintaining a poetic and feminine energy. A beautiful long legged girl is lying draped in the sand on the shore. The sun is smoldering hot, leaving swirls of heat melting away the view. The ocean is slow and pulsing, blue as ice as we see the girls eyes open, they are blue too. She has a feather foiled over her face, a beautiful dark blue dress, and in her hand is a mysterious black bag. She is disoriented and alone, she wanders aimlessly on the beach until she hears a distant voice in the background and begins to follow it, and so begins her journey of discovery, independence and personal enlightenment.
